I remember a discussion somewhere where one of the parties that putting a thank you message with a link to the faved deviation was SPAMMING. No kidding. For me a thank you is a thank you and a link to the deviation just a service, but there you go. But before you know it, your innocent thankyou means that you're heaped together with shady criminals who stuff up x million inboxes with porn smut talk.
So, try not to get too much upset by characters like that, as hard as it may be. A fav is a favour, not an obligation to give criticism or praise when you just don't know what to say.

While comments on why someone likes the work are nice, favorites are a comment of sorts, as well. A pleasant good morning as opposed to a long conversation, but still a day-brightener! Chastising strangers for only saying good morning isn't very friendly I'm happy for any positive acknowledgment I get, so, again, thank you!
